Trump and Technology

In the late 1990s, the crazy pursuit of internet investments led to the huge influx of capital into internet bandwidth investments that ultimately led to the collapse of many internet infrastructure companies. This also laid the groundwork for the rapid growth of internet subsequently.

Today, the adoption of robots and artificial intelligence will be given a big boost by the protectionism policy unleashed by the new President of the USA. Years later, we will look back and realize, instead of creating jobs, Trump will be remembered as the biggest catalyst for the soon-to-be rapid and wide spread adoption of artificial intelligence in the workplace. Knowing him, he might even claim credit later on that he is the one that made it happen! And ironically, the tech sector which is suppose to be a scapegoat for his policy will end up as the winner.
