Miraiichi 2026

Dear readers,
How should the future city look like? Can the future of a city be bright if the younger generation is not? If the adults who control the resources only care about enjoying life and extending their lifespan, what will happen to the next generation?
Itโs easy to blame and be angry with them, but if all the resources are concentrated in the hands of the few, tragedy builds up.
I am no god, and I donโt think I can change things on my own. But I know if a mountain can move, we can make a difference, however small it is.
There are many turning points or pivotal moments in our life as we call it. For me there are more than others. One of which was 2011.
I was planning to take a break from business when I sensed the 3rd bubble I have encountered. The first was in 2000 in the US dot com bubble, then in 2008 when I sense the debt crisis which led to the global financial market.
In 2011, I sensed that China bubble was about to burst. Everyone was arrogant, there was no more value in honour, and money was sloshing around because borrowing was too easy.
Just then, I took the opportunity to become a yoga and meditation student and subsequently became a teacher. During those times, Facebook became a massive success, and I started to venture into AI and blockchain investments.
Part of my motivation then was a deeper question: what was the purpose of my continued focus in business if money was no longer the driver? Through many meditation classes I began to realise a deep-seated calling to help the younger generation.
Maybe it was because I had a very tough childhood. Maybe I did not have the guidance I needed. Maybe I felt fortunate to have been able to survive the tough times and established myself. I wanted to be a role model for the next generation. And I also wanted something that can anchor my purpose in business from that point onward.
I decided to set up a VC fund and a fund of funds focusing on early-stage technology.
My thesis back then was simple: invest in young startups, help these young entrepreneurs, stay close to technology, which is my passion, and continue to achieve financial returns.
The thesis turned out well financially. But over those years, while researching and investing into AI and blockchain, I discovered something more cynical taking shape. The success of Facebook (now Meta) and the advent of blockchain will eventually cause havoc to the unaware.ย
As a result, I made a conscious effort to stay away from social media and scrubbed all my posts. As an engineer, I know how codes can engineer addictive rewards to drive addictive behaviour. I was also aware the regulators will not be able to catch up.
I decided to set up a company to develop an AI agent app which can scrub all your online trail, and an app which can ensure privacy on net. That was how I became friend of Zhang Yi. (We were too early and eventually pivoted to ADDX. But my underlying hunger never went away.)
When the younger generation don't do well, society won't.ย What can be done?
This is the mission of Miraiichi,
There are no financial return targets for Miraiichi.
To be continued...2027 :)
